THE READ TRUTH TOGETHER STORY
In early 2017 a friend shared an article about reading the Bible in one week. I read this blog post – intrigued. “I can do this!” I thought. And so I did…sort of.
On January 15, 2017 armed with my pen, well-worn Bible and a loosely-formed plan, I began. Thirty-five days later, sitting on my brother’s couch, I triumphantly finished Revelation chapter 22. Although my reading time extended longer than a week, this speed-read through the Bible offered important insight not available from a slower pace.
Then, came the time to invite friends to join an exciting journey to get to know God better through reading His Word. In December 2017 we started a Facebook group called Read Truth Together. Beginning January 1, 2018 our mission was to read the Bible through in 100 days. We did it!
Many people joined together to read the Bible through in this short amount of time. We gathered in Facebook live videos and offered encouragement and insights through comments to the group. God blesses us when we read His Word. We did several more Bible reading challenges in 2018.
In May 2019 we started posting on Instagram. Our account is filled with encouraging quotes, biblical insights and ideas for reading the Bible.
And then it was time to take the next step and create this website which I pray will be an encouragement to us as we take action and read God’s Word together.

The Bible
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture.
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
We believe that the Bible is the absolute authority for all matters of faith and practice.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

We believe in one God eternally existing in three Persons.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

We believe in the creation of all things, including man, as the direct act of God.

We believe in eternally secure salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of Christ, and in His bodily resurrection.
